Greg's work sponsored a Family night at the T- Bones game this weekend. They are our Minor League baseball team. Brody was really excited, but he didn't understand why Daddy wasn't playing. (Greg is on a softball team with some buddies and we go watch his games). He really liked seeing the stadium. They have a little playground for kids and he loved seeing the big men playing baseball. I know Brody wanted to stay longer, that's one strange thing about out here, it doesn't get dark till 9:00. We of corse had to get some treats, blue rocket popsicles and cotton candy. Brody's mouth and hands turned completely blue! Tate was so funny with the cotton candy, he didn't know what to think, he must have thought I had given him lint by the look on his face, but you could definitely see the moment he could taste it. The night turned out to be a fun family date.

Super Spider- Man
I've been a little nervous about having two little ones at the pool this year. I didn't really know how I was going to do it. That's why I kept having friends over to play at our house. But on Friday I couldn't hide any longer. There had to be a first and this was going to be it. We went to a friends pool and yes,my fear was realized. Not two minutes after we arrived Tate tripped in the baby pool and couldn't get up.(This all happened really fast and obviously he is okay, or I wouldn't be able to talk about it).I saw it all happening like slow motion. I still had all my clothes and shoes on and I just dove right in with my two other friends and I was able to lift him up out of danger. I've got a pretty nasty scrape to prove it. I share this story not to make light of the event, but to help you learn from my mistake. I was right there, getting Brody's life vest on and I didn't think Tate could fall. It was like a big bath tub, but I underestimated the danger, but luckily he was totally fine, scared but fine. I couldn't leave his side the rest of the day. I had brought a float toy that he wouldn't even ride in, so I didn't have a vest for him yet,but we are getting one before we go to the pool again . Next time I am putting their vests on before we get to the pool and I really think they both will be wearing life vests and floaties till they are 10!.
On a happier note, Brody just loved the pool! He really wanted to go into the big pool, but after what had happened I was way too scared. He splashed and played with his friends in the baby pool. We call him Super Spider-man because of his vest and floaties. For the last 5 mins I did take both boys into the big pool. Brody was scared, but tried to be brave. He'd let go of me for a second and then grab me again. He did start to like it, but I didn't want to stay in their too long. That night when Greg got home we all went to the pool together. Tate had on a life vest and was just fine with us holding him. Brody was still unsure at first, but then became a little fish. By the end of the night he was jumping of the side to us and floating around just laughing and kicking. It was really fun, I think we'll go again tonight.

Water Water Everywhere
For our play group last week we had friends come to a water party. We had our slip n slide out and a little pool set up with a slide. It turned out to be 5 Moms and 10 BOYS!!(Anyone with little girls want to move out here)? We love our boys and they played pretty well together, considering,.. well they're boys! The big hit was the slide. This video is Brody asking me to take a picture of him as he goes down the slide. It starts with his famous phrase, "Mommy, can you listen"? Which means, I'm not listening to you, but you need to listen to me, in Brody.

Brody's turn
BEFOREAFTER- When he saw his haircut in the mirror he smile and laughed and flirted with himself for about 20 mins. I think he likes it.
LITTLE MODEL BOY
Brody is such a funny kid. The things he says just make us laugh so hard. I am starting a new side bar dedicated to the funny things he says.
Last Sunday we were going to go for an evening walk, but it started to sprinkle. I didn't want to get too far away incase it really started to pour down. but of corse both boys were very anixous to get out of the house, so I thought I'd let them run around a little in the backyard. Greg thought it would be a good ime to hose down our deck. Needless to say it got really muddy and I haddent changed brody out of his church shirt yet. Oh well, I guess that's what bleach is for, right? But he was so funny he made "paint" out of the mud and started to paint our house for us. Both Greg and I freaked at first, but then we saw that smile and how could we tell him NO? We just hosed it down again after he was finished. I guess our house needed a good facial.

Zoo
I have totally been a SLACKER!! Sorry, I don't really have a great excuse. I have been busy, but really how hard is this? Not hard. Anyway, This zoo trip was a few weeks ago now. It was the day before Tate's haircut. We went with our friends Kristin,Rylee & Sophie. They had a blast. My favorite part aobut our zoo,(it's a great zoo) is the kanagroos. There is no fence thay just wander around and get very close to you and there are a ton of them. It atcually makes me a little nervous

Tate's BIG BOY haircut
I kept seeing all these cute little boys with their short summer haircuts, but I also love the long surfer look. I was so torn on what to do. Obviously I chose to cut it short, I figure it grows, right? Thank heavens for baby einstein for keeping him still while I cut. When I was finished I was so sad because he looked like such a big boy now. It took me about a day to get over it, I couldn't believe I was acting so silly, I mean I cut hair all the time, but this is my baby and he's getting big so fast. I do think it looks super cute and now I laugh that I was so sad.

Family Pictures
I was so happy with the way Tate's 1 year pictures truned out that we decided to do some family photos. I think these are the first professional pics. we've done since he was born. A lady in our ward took them (www.cynthiaphotos.com). She is amazing, her daughter is at BYU and she dose photograghy as well (plug). It was a lot of fun and I'm so happy to have great family pictures now.
